About:
The MCP Thermal Control System adds an engine coolant re-circulation line that allows HOT coolant to continuously circulate inside the engine, flowing from the head back into the bottom of the cylinder through the water pump.

Having a re-circulation line eliminates severe temperature swings and uneven internal engine temperatures which can cause oil consumption, sticky transmission shifting and uneven wear. Having constant coolant flow through the water pump also helps regulate oil and bottom end temperature, keeping the oil in its own operating range.

 All thermostat bypass kits are similar but the MCP Thermostat bypass kit is designed to work better than other kits especially in really hot or really cold weather climates by isolating the re-circulation path better, which preserves the maximum cooling capability of the system, while helping keep the entire engine in the proper temperature range. (other systems fail at this,  either overheating or over cooling the bottom end in extreme temperatures)

Fits 1987 – PRESENT 650 model years. Also works with AFTERMARKET FUEL TANKS - the thermostat block is 11/16ths thick and spaces the elbow out that far.

 If you do a lot of slow riding like in traffic or tight single track trail riding, OR you're in a hot climate, the addition of a cooler radiator fan activation switch is recommended. (not included).  Adding the Flow Control Units to the MCP Thermal Control System is for LOOKS ONLY, it isn't required but it sure looks great.
